Privacy Policy
advisorroadmap.com has no accounts. It asks for your name and email only if you choose to start a conversation with Parsonex, from the band at the end of a page or after a tool result. This policy explains what the Site collects and why.
Who we are
advisorroadmap.com (the "Site") is a free career resource provided by Parsonex Enterprises, Inc. This policy covers the Site only.
What we collect
You can read every page and use every tool without signing up or giving your name. The Site has no accounts and no email sign-up. It asks for contact details in one place only, the optional form to start a conversation with Parsonex described below under "If you ask us to contact you."
We use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used. It sets first-party cookies to count visits, and it collects standard technical details on its own, such as browser, device type and approximate location. Beyond that, we send it only these events.
- Which page was viewed. The page address is sent without anything after the question mark, except campaign tags that begin with utm_. Tool settings in the address are never sent.
- That you clicked the link to Parsonex careers in the band above the footer, and which section of this site you were reading (for example guides or states).
- That you started one of our tools, which tool it was, and how you reached it, from the home page, a shared link, another of our tools or straight to the tool page.
- Each step you finish in a tool, with the answer you picked from that step's fixed list. Dates and numbers are sent as ranges.
- That a tool showed you a result, with the answers behind it, in the same form. Never the result itself.
- If you leave a tool before its result, the last step you reached.
- That you opened the optional form to start a conversation with Parsonex, where you opened it (the band at the end of a page or a tool result), the type of page and which tool, if any.
- That you moved on to the contact details or reached the thank you screen, and whether you skipped the short questions. Never your answers.
- That you sent that form, and where you sent it from. Never what you typed or picked in it.
- That you closed that form before sending it, how you closed it and which part you were on.
- If that form could not be sent, the kind of problem, such as a missing field. Never what you typed.
- How far down a page you scrolled, in four steps of a quarter, half, three quarters and nearly all of it.
- When you click a link, what kind of link it was (another page of this site, an official source such as FINRA or the BLS, Advisor Train, Parsonex or another site), where on the page it was, and, for links within this site, which of our pages it leads to. Never the address of the link.
- Which question you opened in the questions section of a page, by its position.
- That you opened the table behind a chart, and which chart on the page it was, by its position.
- That you used the On this page list to jump to a section, and which entry, by its position.
- That you used a copy button, and whether it copied the citation for the page or the page's address. Never what was copied.
- What you did with a tool's result, such as copying its link, printing it, adding its dates to your calendar or opening a guide it suggested. Never the result, the link or the dates.
- How quickly the page loaded and responded and whether it shifted while loading, as broad ranges, to keep the Site fast.
When you use one of our tools, we also send Google Analytics the answers you pick, so we can see which questions help and where people stop. These are only choices from the tool's own fixed lists, such as your type of job, a state or metro area, a goal, the licenses you already hold, or how soon you plan to start. Dates and numbers are sent as broad ranges, such as "1 to 3 months away," never the date or number itself. We never send anything you type, your name, email address, phone number or any other personal information, and these answers are not linked to you or to any request you send us.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we send only which tool and step you used, how you reached the tool and how many steps it had, without your answers.
Google Analytics keeps this event data for 14 months and then deletes it. Because the answers are not linked to your name or email, we cannot look up or delete one person's answers. Google's advertising features are turned off for the Site and advertising storage is denied. You can opt out with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. We do not use any advertising tracking technology on the Site.
Like most websites, our hosting keeps a log of each page request, with the page address, the time, the referring site, your browser type and your IP address. We use it to keep the Site secure, to diagnose problems, and to count page requests by page and by type of visitor (people or search engines), without keeping IP addresses in those counts.
Tool settings in the page address
Our tools keep your choices in the page address, after the question mark, so you can bookmark or share a result. Each tool accepts only its own fixed list of settings, such as a state, the licenses you already hold, a goal, or a planned start or exam date, and drops anything else in the address. These settings never hold your name, email, phone number or any free text.
The tools do not store anything in your browser. A page address with settings in it is marked so search engines do not index it. Google Analytics receives your choices only in the form described above, never the page address that holds them. Like any page address, it does appear in our hosting log.
If you ask us to contact you
You can ask to start a conversation with Parsonex from the band at the end of a page, or after a tool shows your result. Nothing is sent unless you fill in the short form and press the button to send it, and nothing you type is saved before then.
The form asks for your name and email address, and for a phone number only if you would like a call. It may first ask one or two short questions with fixed answers, such as where you are in your career or when you might start, and you can skip them. We send what you enter to Parsonex's own request system, together with your answers to those questions, the answers you gave in a tool if you send it after a tool result, the page you sent it from, any campaign tags that begin with utm_ in that page's address and, if another website linked you to the Site, that website's name, so the person who replies has that context. Only the Parsonex staff who handle these requests see it. We use it to contact you about a career as an advisor. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell your details or share them outside Parsonex.
When you open the form, a Cloudflare security check (Cloudflare Turnstile) runs to stop automated spam. Cloudflare runs that check, not Parsonex. It reads technical details from your browser and device, and Cloudflare's own privacy policy covers that check.
We keep these requests the same way as every other inquiry Parsonex receives, as long as we need them to respond to you and to meet the recordkeeping rules that apply to Parsonex.
To see, correct or delete what you sent us, or to ask us not to contact you again, email compliance@parsonex.com.
Links to Parsonex careers
The band above the footer on each page links to parsonex.com/join. That link carries two campaign tags, utm_source=advisorroadmap and a utm_content tag naming the section of the Site you were reading, such as guides, states or tools. The tags carry nothing about you or your tool settings. On most pages a plain click on the band's button opens the short form described above instead of leaving the Site, and the link to parsonex.com/join is used if the form cannot load.
Apart from the optional step described above, we do not use anything from the Site to contact anyone about careers at Parsonex. If you submit Parsonex's own form on parsonex.com, the parsonex.com privacy policy applies there.
How we share data
- With Parsonex, only when you send the optional contact form described above.
- With Cloudflare, which runs the spam check on that form, limited to the technical details the check reads.
- With affiliated Parsonex entities, for legitimate business purposes such as operating and securing the Site and counting visits.
- With service providers that host the Site, under confidentiality obligations.
- With Google, as our website analytics provider, limited to the usage data and tool answers described above.
- As required by law.
We do not sell data to third parties.
Your rights
You can ask about, or ask us to correct or delete, any personal data we hold about you by emailing compliance@parsonex.com. If you are a Colorado resident, the Colorado Privacy Act gives you the right to access, correct, delete or obtain a portable copy of your personal data, and to opt out of certain processing. Contact us at the same address to use these rights.
Children
The Site is meant for adults considering a career. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
International visitors
The Site is operated in the United States. If you visit from outside the U.S., any data described here is processed in the U.S.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect data, including encryption in transit and access controls that limit who can view logs.
Changes to this policy
Parsonex Enterprises, Inc. may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and the "Last revised" date above moves with them.
